At
ACS we provide an affordable service to our clients because our
counsellors and staff work free of charge or at a reduced rate.
Whilst our counselling sessions cost £35, some of the most needy
clients are unable to pay this amount and we try not to turn away
clients for financial reasons. The payments that clients make should
meet most, if not all, of our running costs.
In
2009, ACS has been awarded a £5,000 Grassroots grant from the
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation to help meet
operating and training costs over the next eighteen months. The aim
is to broaden the scope of counselling offered, increase the number
of volunteer counsellors, and cut waiting times for clients.
